On October 21, 2025, Jerald "Jerry" Magness passed away at Johns Hopkins Hospital. Jerry was the beloved husband of 54 years to Joan Magness (nee Palmere), the brother of William Magness, Jr. and his wife Marge Magness (nee Giles), the son of the late William and Margaret Magness (nee Gross), the uncle of Justin and Debbie Born (nee Magness) and Dawn Magness, the great uncle of Otis Magness, the brother-in-law of Rita Palmere, the uncle of Darby Bonsall and Tory Channell (nee Bonsall) and the great uncle of McKenna, Megan, Margo and Jon Channell.

Jerry was a jack of all trades and a master of many. Because he was an Industrial Maintenance Mechanic by trade, any electrical, mechanical and/or plumbing problem was an easy fix. He loved making chocolate candy/Tollhouse cookies for his family and friends as well as his delicious onion dip and his beautiful Italian Cassata. Every year Jerry planted tomatoes and peppers and always supplied the neighbors and friends with his bounty.

When he was not watching his favorite TV show, Law & Order or reading Mystery/Detective books or watching the deer and the turkeys roam on his property, he was dreaming of when he could go to his super favorite restaurants, Friendly Farms and Chili's in Bel Air.

A Gathering of Family and Friends will be held at Peaceful Alternatives Funeral & Cremation Center, 2325 York Road, Timonium, Maryland on Saturday, November 8, 2025 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM.
