Jim Nash was born on September 9, 1962 in Baltimore, Maryland. He was the son of Charles and Rosie Nash, and the second of what would become a family of four children. Growing up, Jim lived in two different homes in Baltimore County. Jim's dad describes him as an energetic and busy little boy.
As a result of a previous marriage, Jim has two lovely daughters, Jamie and Caitlin Nash. Jim's dedication to his girls was always unwavering. At least once a week, the girls would spend hours, sometimes overnight, with their dad. They all loved to go and visit Poppy and Mom Rosie, usually enjoying a delicious home-cooked meal while there.
Jim met the love of his life in 2001. Jennifer Miller was working with a girlfriend of Jim's firehall buddy. Jim and Jennifer first met at a 7/11 convenience store, and it seemed to be love at first sight. In just a little over a year they were married on July 26, 2002. Jennifer moved into the condo that Jim had recently purchased, where they made a comfortable home.
Jim comes from a long line of firemen. His father and grandfather were both professional firemen. They were also both volunteer firemen at the Lutherville Volunteer Fire Department after they retired from their profession. Not to be outdone by his grandfather and father, Jim joined the Lutherville Volunteer Fire Department where he served for forty years. Much of Jim's free time was spent serving the community as a fireman. He was Chief Engineer for many years. Firefighting was not Jim's career, but it was his passion. The firefighting community has lost a dedicated member.
Jim's career was with the Baltimore County tree crew. For at least ten of those years Jim was the Crew Chief. This is why he developed amazing arm strength. He could hold a chainsaw above his head to trim branches and never seem to tire. Jim retired from this career just a few months early to support his wife through a health challenge, again displaying his dedication to family.
Jim is survived by his wife, Jennifer (nee Miller) Nash; his two daughters, Jamie and Caitlyn Nash; his father, Charles Nash, Sr.; his sister, Linda Trimble, her husband Bradley, and their children Bradley and Kayla; his brother, Charles Nash, Jr.; and his brother Raymond Nash, his wife Karen and their children Tyler, Cody, and Logan. Jim was preceded in death by his mother, Rosie Nash.
