John Joseph Gabinet, age 79, of Havre de Grace, Maryland, passed away on January 9th, 2026, surrounded by family and friends. He is survived by his loving wife, Judy Gail; his sister, Carolyn Mary; his son, Jason Jared; and his daughters, Cheryl Lynn and Melissa Danielle. He was the proud grandfather of Chloe Renee, Jackson Joseph, and Dillon Andrew, and great friend to Brenda Madeline. He is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Born on December 17th, 1946, in Baltimore, Maryland, John lived a life defined by decency, kindness, and quiet service to others. He was the oldest of two. Predeceased by his parents, James Joseph and Marie Concetta, and his first wife, Carol Helen.  Those who knew him well will remember him as a good man who was deeply compassionate, generous, kind and always smiling. He will be forever missed by those who knew him and remembered fondly as a person who loved life, his family and friends, and his dogs, Theodore, Dutch, Maple, and Misty.

Celebration of life details will be shared by family at a later date.
