John "Marty" Naylor, beloved by family and friends, passed away peacefully in his sleep on September 3, 2025, at the age of 82. Born on January 9, 1943, in Baltimore, Maryland, Marty lived a vibrant and fulfilling life, leaving a lasting legacy of love and camaraderie.

Marty is survived by his devoted partner of 44 years, Sandra Hofmeister and his two children, Minnie Lathe and her husband Keith and Wayne Naylor. Beloved brother of Nancy Duncan, Bruce Naylor, Norman (Buddy) Naylor, Shaver Naylor and the late Robert Naylor, Stewart Naylor and Spanky Naylor. Marty is also survived by his extended family, Dawn Vasco and her husband Rob, Robin Mayo and her husband Mark, and David Hofmeister, along with many grandchildren.

A passionate athlete, Marty had an infectious zest for life. He was an avid player of fast-pitch softball for McDermott's Tavern League and enjoyed golf, baseball, and horseshoes. In his later years, he eagerly looked forward to playing bridge with friends at the Cockeysville Senior Center, where his competitive spirit and warm smile brightened the room.

Marty proudly served in the U.S. Army and was a skilled carpenter and roofer, known for his craftsmanship and dedication. His legacy of hard work, kindness, and joy will live on in the hearts of those who knew him.

The family will receive friends at Peaceful Alternatives Funeral & Cremation Center, 2325 York Rd, Timonium, MD 21093, on Sunday, September 21, 2025, from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM. A Memorial Service will be held in the Peaceful Alternatives Chapel on September 22, 2025, at 11:00 AM. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to the Baltimore Human Society in Marty's memory.
