On December 5, 2022, John H. Mummert, age 94, died peacefully in his home at the Maryland Masonic Lodge in Cockeysville, MD.  He is survived by daughters Karen J. Christian and Kathy L. Francis, sons David M. Mummert, and Daniel C. Mummert; son-in-law John R. Francis, daughters-in-law Carolyn M. Mummert and Laura J. Mummert; and granddaughters Jessica and Abigail.  John was predeceased by his beloved wife Barbara J. (nee Haloskey), sister Gloria A. Strong, and parents John D. and Ella M. Mummert.

John was born in York, PA on May 1, 1928, and was raised in Baltimore, MD.  A peacetime veteran of USAF, he served in Japan as a radar mechanic 1947-1949, and remained a member of the Reserves until 1953.  John raised his family in Linthicum, MD and retired in 1991 as President of APL Federal Credit Union in Howard County, MD.  After retirement, he relocated to Finksburg, MD with wife Barbara, then to Abbottstown, PA.  He was a member of Hebron Lodge #465 F&AM, of New Oxford, PA, and of VFW Post #8896, East Berlin, PA; he attended Paradise Evangelical Lutheran Church.  In retirement, John volunteered at the Carroll County Farm Museum in Westminster, MD,  and in the Guthrie Memorial Library in Hanover, PA.
