Joseph "Bud" Mattingly Jackson went home to Jesus on Tuesday, April 6, 2021 at age 87. Bud was born to the late Mattingly and Viola Jackson on March 30, 1934 in Baltimore, Maryland. Bud served in the United States Army and was deployed to the Korean War in 1954. Bud met his wife, the late Jean Jackson, on a blind date and married soon after on December 11, 1954. Bud and Jean had three children, the late Linda Swift, Douglas, and Glen Jackson. Bud is survived by his sister, Shirley Baker, brother, David Jackson, sons, Douglas and Glen Jackson, daughter-in-law, Patti Jackson, and grandchildren, James, Michael, and Ashlee Swift, Melanie Carroll, Samantha Newcomer, and Rebecca Jackson.

A Memorial Mass will be held at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 13305 Long Green Pike, Hydes, MD 21082 on Monday, April 26 beginning at 10:00 AM.
