It is with deep sorrow and love that we announce the passing of Josephine Patricia Rust. A beloved wife, mother, God mother, sister, aunt, grand aunt, great-grand aunt and cherished friend, who departed this life peacefully on October 4, 2025, at the age of 98.

Josephine was preceded in death by her beloved husband, James Emmett Rust Sr., parents Giuseppe and Santa Scilipoti, brother Thomas J. Scilipoti, sister-in-law Santina R. Scilipoti, brother-in-law Patsy A. Saladini and grand nephew Ryan C. Bailey. She is survived by her sons, James Emmett Rust Jr. and Timothy Garrett Rust. Her sister Pauline M. Saladini, and many nieces, nephews, grand nieces and nephews, great-grand nieces and nephews and many dear friends.

Josephine was the heart of her family. A homemaker who poured her love, faith, and care into every corner of her life. Her unwavering dedication to her family was evident in everything she did, from the warmth of her home and hospitality to the comfort of her words. She created a home filled with laughter, kindness, and grace.

Her faith in God was the foundation of her life. She lived with quiet strength, humility, and compassion, and gave selflessly to others both through her time as a volunteer and in the countless ways she touched lives every day. Her belief in God, prayer, love, and service shaped her legacy and inspired those who knew her.

Her absence leaves a space that cannot be filled, but her life will continue to be a source of strength and comfort to all who are blessed to have known her.

A private graveside inurnment ceremony will be held to honor the lives of Josephine and her late husband James.
