Joyce Ann Burk, a lifelong Baltimore resident, passed away on August 24, 2025, after a brief illness. She was 83.

Born in Baltimore in June 1942, Joyce's life was filled with the joy of her family, including her beloved pets, and her football team. She was a graduate of The Catholic High School of Baltimore and spent many years as a dedicated medical assistant at GBMC before retiring.

Joyce was best known as the ultimate Baltimore Ravens fan and a spirited member of Ravens Roost 50, where she cheered on her team with unmatched passion—win or lose, rain or shine. When she wasn't watching football, her favorite things were the sand between her toes at the beach, a pile of steamed crabs, and the constant, loving presence of her dog, Jackson.

Joyce was preceded in death by her husband, William R. Burk, Jr. She is survived by her daughters, Tracy Lynn Burk and Sharon Burk Higgins (Robert Higgins), and was the proud grandmother of Colin McGuigan, Maggy McGuigan, Kate Higgins, and Jack Higgins.

The family will announce a celebration of life at a future date.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions in Joyce's name be made to Defenders of Animal Rights , 14412 Old York Rd., Phoenix, MD 21131, a cause dear to her heart.
