With deep sadness, we announce the passing of Karen L. Bouter, who passed away peacefully on July 8, 2026, at the age of 82.

Born in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, Karen lived a life defined by compassion, kindness, and an unwavering devotion to her family and those she served. She dedicated many years of her career as a physical therapist at the Canandaigua VA Medical Center, where she found great purpose in helping veterans regain their strength, mobility, and independence. Her gentle spirit, patience, and genuine care made a lasting impact on the lives of countless patients.

Karen found great joy in tending to her beautiful gardens and spending summers camping along the shores of Lake Ontario with her beloved husband, Charles. Those cherished days, surrounded by nature and laughter, became some of her happiest memories.

Above all, Karen treasured her family. She is lovingly remembered by her daughters, Richelle Tighe and Korryn Warner; her son-in-law, Eric Tighe; her grandsons, Declan Tighe and Liam Tighe; her sisters, Jeanna Ruter and Barbara Kurth; her brother-in-law, Bob Ruter; her sister-in-law, Donna Dewey; as well as several beloved nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Bouter; her parents, Gilbert and Madeline Dewey; her brother, Dennis Dewey; her niece Rachael Dewey and her brother-in-law, Tom Kurth.
