On Monday, January 19, 2026, Katherine Wright Pilkerton passed away peacefully at Stella Maris Hospice at the age of 93.  She was born on September 22, 1932 in Baltimore, MD to the late Emma Leyhe Wright and Milton Harper Wright. She is survived by one daughter, Linda L. Duncan, a son in law Edward Labenz,  and two sons Earl W. Pilkerton and Joseph C. Pilkerton.  She has a total of five grandchildren (Michael Duncan, Jennifer Duncan, Jessica Pilkerton, Captain Thomas Pilkerton, US Navy and Keith Pilkerton).  She has a total of nine great grandchildren (Cameron Zeiler, Jaimee Zeiler, Lucas Ramage, Allison Ramage, Jacob Pilkerton, Logan Pilkerton, Emmy Pilkerton Burton, McKenzie Pilkerton Brittingham and Nash Pilkerton). She became a proud great great grandmother in September, 2025, Cecilia Wren Brittingham.

She loved to sew, knit and crochet. She worked most of her adult life in the banking industry. She was adventurous and loved to travel which included many different types of transportation (buses, trains, boats and even a hot air balloon).  In addition to travel in the United States, she visited many of the Caribbean islands. The highlight of her travels included a cruise on the Queen Elizabeth 2, as well as trips to Alaska, Australia, Canada, Hawaii, Hong Kong, Greece, Turkey, China.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Doris and her brother Harper. She is survived by her dear lifelong friend Jeannette Linnemann and her daughter Pat, multiple cousins as well as several Mays Chapel neighbors, most significantly Joan.
