Kathleen "Kathy"
Hook
Mar 8, 1942 — Oct 20, 2026
Kathleen “Kathy” D. Hook (nee Maskell) of Baltimore, Maryland, peacefully passed away on Tuesday, October 20, 2026. She was 84 years old. Kathy was born in Baltimore on March 8, 1942 to Dorothy Elizabeth (nee Seigrist) and Charles Leo Maskell. She was the beloved wife of the late Harry F. Hook, U.S. Army Veteran; loving mother of Adrian Woods and her husband Francis and Eric Hook; proud grandmother of Caitlin Gritsko and her husband Dan and Katelyn Hankoff and her husband Sam; adoring great grandmother of Elijah, Zoe and Ezra; dear sister of Mary Margaret Ciampa and her husband Joe, Tom Maskell and his wife Maria, Ray Maskell and his wife Denise, Charlie Maskell and his wife Elsa, the late Capt. C. Michael Maskell (U.S. Navy) and his late wife Patricia, the late Charlotte Keegan and her late husband Brian, and the late Larry Maskell; cherished sister in law of the late Norman Hook and his surviving wife Sheila. Kathy is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, other extended family members and dear friends.
She was a devoted, proud and supportive wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and cherished friend to all who knew her. She supported her husband, Harry, when he found his true passion with the drum and bugle corps while he served with them in multiple capacities. Additionally, Kathy served as Business Manager and Logistics Coordinator for the Reilly Raiders Alumni Corps and she was an Associate Member of the World Drum Corps Hall of Fame. Kathy also lent her cooking and logistics talents for many years to the Yankee Rebels Alumni Corps while Harry was a marching member.
She enjoyed playing bingo and dominos and loved going on cruises throughout her years. Above all though, Kathy was happiest when her family and extended relatives got together for the holidays. She was known for her amazing cooking skills – Thanksgiving was her most cherished holiday. She wanted to share delicious meals and absorb all the love and warmth of the close family that her and Harry loved so much. Kathy and Harry got married on Thanksgiving Day and built a life together for 65 years before his passing in July 2026. She will be truly missed by all who knew her and her absence will have a profound effect on her family and friends.
A Memorial Mass will be held privately by the family at a future date. In lieu of flowers, please remember Kathy with memorial contributions to Stella Maris, c/o Development Office, 2300 Dulaney Valley Road, Timonium, Maryland 21093.
