Leticia "Mama Lettie" Sayo
Roxas
d. Jun 1, 2026
Leticia Sayo Roxas, aged 79, went home to the Lord on June 1, 2026. She was born March 30, 1947 in Lagundi, Plaridel, Bulacan, Philippines, which she called home for most of her life. Leticia blessed the many loved ones in her life with her humor, intelligence, and loving support.
Leticia also brightened the lives of the many students she taught over her 28-year-long career as a teacher. She was proud to have taught at St. Jude Academy Malinta, Dampol Elementary School, and Lagundi Elementary School. Her students remember her fondly for her generosity and guidance. They offered her well wishes and gifts even decades after their time in her classroom.
In 1996 she immigrated to the United States with her family. Leticia was immensely proud to see her three daughters start their own families here. As a teacher, she was especially fulfilled seeing her four grandchildren pursue their education. Her family will miss seeing her sneak another serving of fruit salad at the party, watching the latest episode of TFC’s Showtime with her, and laughing alongside her infectious chuckle after she made a joke. Even in her last days she made family, friends, and caretakers laugh with her wit and charm.
Leticia was thankful to her family for their love and support through the years and especially in the last chapter of her life. Her family is just as thankful for the love and support she gave in return.
She is survived by her siblings Teddy, Crispin, Rene, and Pepito Sr; her husband Nicolas; her daughters Lennie, Lynn (and her husband Robert), and Lizza (and her husband Ronaldo); and her grandchildren Ron, Rizza, Vera, and Andrew. She was preceded in death by her mother Teodora Calalang Sayo, father Teodoro Calderon Sayo, and nephew Joel Sayo. The world is dimmer without her here but her memory alone is a light for those who love her.
A Visitation will be held at Peaceful Alternatives Funeral & Cremation Center, Timonium, MD, on Friday, June 5, 2026 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM. A Funeral Service will take place on Saturday, June 6, 2026 at 10:00 AM in the funeral home chapel.
