Louis Marshall Heminway, III, 85, passed away on Wednesday May 18, 2022, at Gilchrist Hospice in Towson, MD.  Louis Marshall was known to family and friends as Marshall.  He was the last of the LM Heminway in the family.

A Graveside Service will be held at St. Joseph's Church Cemetery, Church Lane, Cockeysville on Thursday July 7 beginning at 11 AM.

Marshall was born in NYC to Georgia Lamar Shanton and Louis Marshall Heminway, II on December 10, 1936.  He graduated from high school at Canterbury School in New Milford, CT.  Marshall attended Georgetown, Bethany, Marquette and received a Bachelor's Degree from USNY Albany, NY.  He served in the Marine Corps Reserves from 1952-1962.  He was married from 1962-1974.  He had no children.

Marshall worked as a freelance journalist until retiring in 1995.  His favorite hobby was photography.  He had a love for nature and the magnificence of wildlife.  Marshall loved to travel.  He visited England 4 times, Cuba twice, India twice, France, Italy, Canada, Switzerland, Liechtenstein, Austria, Australia, and New Zealand.

Happiness for Marshall was good conversations with friends, great food, his faith in God, reading and collecting books.  His collection started at 3,500 books until his move back to MD from NC.  He reduced his collection to 1,000.  He truly enjoyed his last 8 years in Towson and the friendships he made.
