Marian Krause, née Fenner, passed away peacefully on May 1, 2026 in Baltimore, Maryland at the age of 87. She was born on February 28, 1939 in Providence, Rhode Island.
Marian was the beloved wife of Alexander Krause and a devoted mother to Suzanne (the late Kevin) Cox, Kristine (Gregg) Barrow, Andrea Saccoccio, Matthew (Suzana) Krause, and Danielle (Matt) McFadden. She cherished her role as a grandmother to Kimberly Bowers, Jack (Helena) Barrow, Brooke Barrow, Izidor Krause, Alexander Krause, and Cassian McFadden, and as a great-grandmother to Gray Bowers.

A longtime resident of Severna Park, MD, she balanced raising her family while working for the Maryland General Assembly in Annapolis. She nurtured a love of learning in all of her children and supported Anne Arundel County public schools as a PTA member and CNA health assistant. After receiving her Associate Degree in Graphic Design from AACC, Marian founded her own graphic design business, Visual Image Graphics in 2019, Marian and Alex moved to Freeland, Maryland where she indulged her love of gardening and interior decorating to create their dream home. She was a fabulous cook who loved hosting family and friends for holiday dinners and summer barbecues. Marian's strong faith and genuine interest in others were evident as an active member of the Church of the Nativity in Timonium. She served as a Eucharistic minister and especially enjoyed connecting with new families as a member of both the Baptism Team and Welcoming Committee.
Marian was a passionate animal lover, surrounding herself with cherished pets throughout her life. She supported many animal welfare groups and was a founding member of All Shepherd Rescue, a nonprofit organization dedicated to public education, rescue, rehabilitation and rehoming of animals in need. An avid reader, Marian was a familiar face and regular visitor to the Mount Carmel Library. She and Alex loved to travel, taking many trips together to explore England, Scotland, Slovenia, New England and Acadia National Park. They made wonderful memories on family trips to Disney World.
Marian was known for her vibrant personality, sharp intellect and wonderful sense of humor. She was unique, fun, and lived her life to the fullest. She will be dearly missed, but her memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
