On September 24, 2026; Marie “Terry” Fahey. Daughter of the late James A. & Margaret V. Fahey, sister of Margaret M. Walsh, Thomas F. Fahey (Theresa Byers) and the late James A. Fahey, Jr., Aunt of Chris A. Walsh, Elaine C. Sonntag, Mark A. Walsh and Thomas F. Fahey, Jr., Great-Aunt of Zane, Chloe, Ethan, Ryan, Nathan & Colin.

Marie Therese Fahey, also affectionately known to close friends as “Willie” was born and raised in the Govans area of Baltimore. She attended St. Mary’s Grade School, The Institute of Notre Dame High School (IND ’63), College of Notre Dame of Maryland ’67 and obtained a Masters of Liberal Arts Degree from Johns Hopkins University.

After a short period of teaching French at Herring Run Junior High School, she started her career as an analyst with the Social Security Administration in Woodlawn. During her 40 year career, she received numerous awards and accolades for her work in the Foreign Claims Division. She retired in 2007 and generously volunteered her time at Our Daily Bread Soup Kitchen in Baltimore City.

She is most fondly remembered for her annual Christmas Eve family dinner party through generations of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and other family. It was marked as the official start of the Christmas season. The children have fond memories of this tradition. Terry resided in the Lutherville area for the past 41 years and took great pride in her decorating and gardening skills at her home on Felton Road.

Along with her dedication to work and love of simple family gatherings, two main interests filled Terry’s free time. First and foremost was travel. Trips in the U.S. reached from North to South and East to West. Large cities-New York, Chicago, San Fran and Boston to name a few, provided days of pounding sidewalks and sight-seeing. Smaller ones-Cooperstown, Ashville, and Williamsburg were rich in history while offering a more relaxing pace. Vacations up “north” included visits to New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island, Quebec and Montreal. Memorable travel “Across the Pond”, included Scandinavian countries, Italy and several trips each to England, France and Ireland! Not to be overlooked with all of the “exotic” travels, were numerous long weekends with eight close friends from IND as “Mountain Mamas” in West Virginia and “Bethany Babes” on Delaware shores.

Terry’s other love was musical performances ranging from productions at Metropolitan Opera to Broadway shows. She enjoyed numerous years as a subscriber to the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra and rocked to multiple Neil Diamond concerts.
