Michael J. Friedman, 87, of Lutherville passed away on Saturday April 22, 2023.  Michael was the loving husband of Elaine R. Friedman for 65 years; devoted father of Laura Klein (late husband Michael), Lisa Friedman (Larry), Lynn Trouba (John) and Micky Sharkey (John); cherished grandfather of Caitlyn, Kyle, Charlie, Taylor and Peter; great grandfather of Finn and Isla; brother of Peter Friedman (Marcia) and respected friend to many.  Mike was a professional engineer and received his bachelor's in chemical engineering at RPI '58 and Masters of Chemical Engineering at MIT '60 He was known for his intelligence, his love of sports, especially baseball and for embracing all life had to offer.  He played football as a youth and ice hockey; he was also a lifetime golfer. He was an active leader in his community, as well as in many professional and civic associations and social clubs. He was an army veteran having served in the US Army Chemical Corps and six years in the reserves.  Mike was a business leader; he owned and operated AC MacDonald for approximately 25 years with his longtime business partner and dear friend Sidney Rubin.  He was chairman of the National Fire Sprinkler Association (NFSA) and created a new process that revolutionized the industry.  He will be dearly missed. Private services for family and close friends will be held at a future date.
