Obituary

Nancy Lee Bosley (nee Tipton) of Parkville, MD, passed away peacefully on November 27, 2025.  She was born on February 28, 1941, to Harold A. Tipton, Sr. and his wife, Mabel (nee Fendlay).  Nancy was the granddaughter of Rachel Fendlay (nee Cuddy) and James Edward Frebertschauser and Mary (nee Von Garlem) and Edward Tipton.  Nancy was married to the love of her life, George M. Bosley, Jr., for 63 years and they had four children.  Nancy was a homemaker while raising her four children and later worked for McCormick and Company in Hunt Valley for 10 years as a filling machine operator.  After a battle with lung cancer in the early 1980's, Nancy retired from working and went on to live a full life.  When her husband retired at the age of 54, they moved to Crestview, Florida, from their home of 30 years in Phoenix, MD.  After seven years in Florida, they moved back to Maryland to be near their children and grandchildren.  Nancy was a wonderful mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who was loved by all.  She had a great sense of humor and could be counted on to liven up any party.  She enjoyed all kinds of music, horse racing, going to the casino and local travel to places like Skyline Drive.  Nancy was an excellent dancer who enjoyed dancing with her husband, and the two of them danced on the Buddy Deane Show when they were younger.

She is survived by her four children:  daughter, Terri McCardell and husband, Dave; son, George Bosley; daughter, Diana Via and husband Joseph; and son, Keith Bosley and wife Dawn.  Nancy leaves a legacy of five grandchildren (Amber Bosley, Daniel Szumla, Stephanie Bosley, Lauren Szumla Kelley, and Keith "BJ" Bosley) as well as ten great-grandchildren.  Nancy was preceded in death by her husband, George (2023), parents (Harold and Mabel, stepmother Liz), and two sisters, Barbara Kuykendall and Sharon Blevins.  She is survived by four siblings—Harold A. Tipton, Jr. (Michelle), James E. Tipton (Mary), Linda S. Pierce (Alan), and JoAnn M. Gilliland.
