On May 8th 2024, Nell Temple Purvis, devoted mother to Stephanie Lee Armiger and her husband Richard Emerson Armiger, Temple Moore and his wife Nicole Maghan Moore, beloved wife of the late Oliver DuVal Purvis (Val), loving sister to Lee Temple Martin (d 2021) and devoted grandmother to Carter Temple Moore and Sylas Temple Moore, passed away peacefully at Orchard Hill Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center in Towson.

Nell was born at Union Memorial Hospital in February of 1943 and she graduated with her identical twin sister Lee, from Hannah More Academy in Reisterstown in 1961. She loved sports as a young woman and after graduating from Bard Avon Secretarial School in 1964, she became the girl's lacrosse, field hockey and basketball coach at Friends School. In 1968 she reluctantly put down her lacrosse stick and focused on raising her two children until taking on the role of full-time office manager at St. David's Episcopal Church in Roland Park. Later she began working at Coldwell Banker Real Estate eventually becoming a residential real estate agent until she retired.

Nell was not only a devoted and caring mother, sister and grandmother, her kitchen was a safe place to get advice and be heard for the many neighborhood kids who also called her "Mom". She was always there offering support, wisdom and love in abundance. Nell relished her trips to the beach, painting, art shows, her many beloved rescue dogs and the perfect cup of coffee. Most of all, she loved being surrounded by friends and family in her beautiful home in Homeland. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
