Peggy Tucker Miller passed away on Saturday, July 23, 2022 at the age of 91. She was the beloved wife of the late Dr. William S. Miller who preceded her in death in 2007; devoted mother of Carol Lynn Miller of Raleigh, NC., Maggie Miller Caverly and her husband Dr. Robert Caverly of Uwchlan Township, PA., and William Tucker Miller and his wife Jennifer of Cockeysville, MD.; proud grandmother of Melanie Coward Chiavatti and her husband Anthony of Raleigh, NC., Laura Coward Egan and her husband Sean of Durham, NC., Samuel Miller Hansen of Ann Arbor, MI., Robert William Caverly and his wife Sarah of Elverson, PA., Matthew Tucker Caverly and his wife Dr. Jennifer Caverly of Uwchlan Township PA., and Jeremiah Tucker Miller of Cockeysville, MD.; dear great grandmother of 4. Also survived by her siblings, Kathleen Poff, Thomas Tucker and Pat Tucker.

Peggy Miller received a BA in Education from Hood College. She taught high school history at Governor Thomas Johnson High School in Frederick, Maryland and in Houston, Texas.

Peggy Miller loved the outdoors and was very athletic. Her interests included golfing, hiking, 10 pin bowling, sailing, and cross country skiing. She also enjoyed crafting (such as making jewelry), decorating, reading, and gourmet cooking.

Peggy was on the Board of Baltimore Country Club and was a member of the Maryland Women's Golf Association. She was a club member coordinating the 1988 United States Women's Open at Baltimore Country Club. Peggy was extremely proud of her three hole in one shots!

Other passions were to travel and explore the history of the places Peggy and her husband visited. Peggy and Bill traveled extensively and made many international trips including an African safari, a trip to climb Mount Fuji in Japan, and a multi-day walk across Scotland. In addition, Peggy and Bill traveled to (and hiked) in almost every U.S. State.

A life long learner Peggy had an avid interest in archeology and took international trips with an archaeological group to Egypt, Israel, and other locations. She also looked forward to attending monthly lectures at Johns Hopkins and reading her husband's monthly scientific journals.

Peggy's family was influenced by her love of education and history, sense of adventure, and love of the outdoors and athletics. She inspired her family and she will be missed.

Services and interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, please remember Peggy with memorial contributions to First Tee of Greater Baltimore, 303 International Circle, Suite T119, Cockeysville, MD 21030.
