On September 14th 2025, Philip Charles Passman, age 88, of Lutherville, Maryland passed away peacefully at Pickersgill Retirement Community. He was the loving husband of the late Joan (Shultzman) Passman, son of the late Sam Passman and late Ethel (Lyon) Passman and brother of the late Lois Gratton. He is survived by sons Andrew (Nancy) of Catonsville, Joshua of Cockeysville, and Daniel of Cockeysville. He is also survived by two nieces and a nephew.

Phil was a New Year's baby, born on January 1, 1937 in Chicago. After graduating from Roosevelt University he began working at a Social Security Administration field office in Chicago, where he met his future wife. In the mid-1960's Phil took a position at the Social Security headquarters in Woodlawn.

He and Joan moved to the Baltimore area and never left, living for almost 60 years in Towson, Cockeysville and Lutherville. After retirement Phil enjoyed traveling with Joan, attending football and basketball games at the University of Maryland, and coaching rec league basketball.

A receiving of friends will take place at Peaceful Alternatives Funeral & Cremation Center, 2325 York Road, Timonium MD 21093 on Wednesday, September 24, 2025 from 2:00-4:00 PM  and from 6:00-8:00 PM. In lieu of flowers please consider a donation to the ALS Association.
