Regina Theresa
Brown
d. Oct 5, 2022
A very special light has gone out in our world but is now shining down on us from heaven. Regina Theresa Brown, beloved mother, grandmother, sister and friend, passed away peacefully on October 5, 2022 at the age of 80, after a courageous four-year battle with breast cancer. Jeannie was born in Baltimore, Maryland on September 29, 1942. She lived the majority of her life in Baltimore, with brief stints in California and Pennsylvania.
Eleanor Roosevelt once said, "Many friends will walk in and out of your life, but only true friends will leave footprints in your heart." Jeannie had many true friends and loving family members, and she left footprints on each and every one of our hearts. Someone who truly never met a stranger, Jeannie had the ability to open up her heart to everyone she encountered throughout her life. Her fun-loving spirit and zest for life was contagious. She surrounded herself with family and friends, and she made them the most important parts of her life.
An artist, accomplished seamstress and student of fashion design, Peace Corps volunteer, radio sales executive, a beautiful skier and small business owner, Jeannie was a woman of many talents. She was a graduate of Seton High School and Maryland Institute College of Art. As the owner of the Ski Shoppe Ltd. in Reisterstown, MD, along with her late husband, Gerald Brown, she built a community for both new and experienced skiers, creating a family of lifelong friends. Later in life, Jeannie was a devoted member of the Cockeysville Senior Center and an always faithful member of St. Joseph's Church.
Jeannie was the beloved wife of the late Gerald Brown. She was the devoted mother of Ginny Higgins Lovern, Kate Higgins, and Susie Higgins, and doting grandmother of Jack Lovern, Emily Lovern, Lia Worth and Sam Worth. She was sister to Judy Geilfuss Dobson, Kathy Geilfuss Strine, Tom Geilfuss and John Geilfuss, and sister-in-law to Angie Geilfuss and Jim Dobson. She was preceded in death by her parents Mary Evelyn Bolton Geilfuss and Charles Rudolph Geilfuss, and her sister Mary Beth Geilfuss Harry. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, dear friends and loving extended family.
Family and friends and others are invited to celebrate Jeannie's life on Friday, October 21 and Saturday, October 22. The family will receive friends at Peaceful Alternatives Funeral and Cremation Center, P.A., 2325 York Road, Timonium, MD 21093 on Friday, October 21 from 4-8 PM. The celebration of her life will continue on Saturday morning, October 22, with a mass at St. Joseph's Church, 100 Church Lane, Cockeysville, MD, beginning at 10:30 am.
