Richard Douglas
Pike
d. Apr 16, 2026
Richard Douglas Pike was born in Massachusetts; the son of Richard I. Pike and Celeste S. Pike. He went by Doug to most but family fondly called him "Gag". He grew up in Maryland where he resided until he died at the age of 79 on Thursday, April 16, 2026. Doug had two older sisters Pat and Babs; a daughter, Barbie; two grandchildren, Kaleb and Fenna; and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. He was blessed to have many friends who enriched his life, each in their own way.
Doug was a handsome, bright and rowdy boy who loved to live on the edge. After high school, he joined the Marines and was very proud to serve his country. In his spare time he enjoyed cars and motorcycles as well as many hobbies such as boating, tinkering with anything mechanical and collecting. He taught himself watch repair and made a hobby turn into a retirement career, commonly referred to as "the watch guy". Doug retired working as a Supervisor to the Elevator Inspectors for the State. He loved his family especially his daughter, grandbabies and his kitties. Doug was a fighter for life overcoming several tremendous obstacles. He had a crew of loving carers and doctors in his later years that helped him survive and endure-to them, he will forever be grateful. Doug will dearly be missed, but always remembered.
Doug will be laid to rest via a Graveside Service at Dulaney Valley Memorial Gardens, 200 East Padonia Road, Timonium, Maryland 21093 on Saturday, April 25 beginning at 11:45 AM. In lieu of flowers, please remember Doug with memorial contributions to an animal rescue charity of your choice.
Please sign our online guestbook through www.peacefulalternatives.com and share your memories and pictures of Doug. Online condolences would kindly be appreciated.
