Rita (nee Gangi) Ritter passed away on Saturday, August 28, 2021 with her family by her side. The former Reisterstown, Maryland resident was 87 years old. She was born in Baltimore on November 21, 1933 to Lena (nee Giordano) and George Gangi. Rita was the beloved wife of the late Clayton Arthur Ritter; cherished mother of Marie Anne (nee Einolf) Dix and her husband John and Eugene Henry Einolf and his wife Iris; devoted grandmother of Bridget Franz, Daniel Einolf and his wife Christine, Stephanie Gardner and her husband Casey, Joseph Dix and his fiancée Kaitlyn and Shawn Dix and his wife Cassie; proud great grandmother of Kortnee Franz, Jacob Franz, Zachary Morgan, Patrick Einolf, Connor Gardner and Adam Gardner; dear sister of Patricia Richter and Joan Peters; step mother of Mary Cheryl Hudak, Barbara Bennett, Patricia Tarlow, Clayton A. Ritter III, Nicholas Ritter, Sr., Susan Guilday, John Ritter, Robert Ritter and Gina Steele (and their spouses). She is also survived by many step grandchildren and step great grandchildren.

Mom will be remembered for her love of her family, especially her husband Clay, as she would say, "her heartbeat and her hunk". Mom loved gardening and bird watching, the butterfly bushes and the wildlife seen everyday on the property. Another pastime was watching the old Westerns on television.

A Memorial Mass will be held at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 13305 Long Green Pike, Hydes, Maryland 21082 on Saturday, September 18 beginning at 10 AM with the inurnment to follow in the adjoining cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please remember Rita with memorial contributions to the St. Jude's Children's Hospital or to The Chimes School .
