Robert "Bob" C. Galvin of Baltimore, Maryland, passed away on January 2, 2026, at the age of 78. Bob was a loving and dedicated husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend, as well as a respected landscape architect whose career reflected a deep commitment to thoughtful land planning and community development in the Baltimore region.
He is survived by his wife of more than 30 years, Nancy Galvin; his children Aubree Galvin Caunter and her husband David Caunter, Jenna Galvin Holt and her husband Andy Holt and Rodney Ruley and his wife Ayako Ruley; his grandchildren Riley Jane Caunter, Emmett Galvin Caunter, Avery Sloan Holt, Lucy Sakura Ruley and Isabelle Yuki Ruley; his brother Bruce M. Galvin and his wife Tammy Adams as well as extended family and many dear friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Morrison Galvin and Helen Regina Galvin of White Plains, New York and his brother Barry F. Galvin of El Cajon, California.
Bob earned a Bachelor of Science in Landscape Architecture from Pennsylvania State University in 1969, attending on a full soccer scholarship. He was a member of the Varsity Club and Beta Theta Pi fraternity, forming lifelong friendships grounded in teamwork, loyalty and camaraderie. Penn State remained an important touchstone throughout his life.
Professionally, Bob served as President of Daft McCune Walker in Towson and later as Senior Director of Land Planning for Johns Hopkins University Office of Real Estate. He also founded Galvin Design, a design consultancy based on the Eastern Shore. Through his career he contributed to land planning and development efforts supporting education, healthcare and community growth throughout the Mid-Atlantic.
Above all, Bob will be remembered as a devoted and loving husband, deeply proud of his family and generous with his wisdom and encouragement. A man who loved the sound of waves and smell of salt air, he valued friendship, mentorship and quiet integrity and he leaves behind many who will miss his steady presence, humor and kindness.

There will be a private graveside memorial service held at Kensico Cemetery in Westchester County, New York.
A celebration of life to honor Robert "Bob" Culyer Galvin will be held at a future date to be announced.
