Obituary

Robert "Rob" John Palmisano of Baltimore, Maryland, passed away on January 3, 2026, at the age of 71. Rob was a loving and dedicated husband, brother, uncle and friend, as well as an experienced and respected travel consultant whose career reflected a deep commitment to creating seamless, tailored travel experiences for his clients.

He is survived by his wife of more than 48 years, Cristina Castro Palmisano, his in-laws: Linda Palmisano of Baltimore MD; Arleen Castro of Baltimore, MD; Lorna McGinty and her husband, John McGinty of Baltimore, MD; Marijo Fadrigalan and her husband, Tom Fadrigalan of East Taunton, MA; Charlie Castro and his wife, Mary Castro of Framingham, MA; Manny Castro and his wife, Lisa Castro of Baltimore, MD; Ana Dempsey and her husband, Brian Dempsey of Weymouth, MA; Grace Soriano and her husband, Ruel Soriano of Clermont, FL; countless nephews and nieces: Trey & Krista Palmisano, Chris Palmisano, Leah and Clay Coard, Arvin Castro, Mae Wilkinson, Steve & Michelle Castro, Maria Torres & Jim DiMare, PJ Torres, Marissa & Katrina Castro, Ryan & Randy Castro, Gina & Daniel Cheung, grand nephews and grandnieces: Paige & Maci Wilkinson, Anthony Castro, Isabelle, Lexi & Sam Palmisano, Juliet & Alex Palmisano, Laurel, Blake & Lila Coard, Matty & Mikaela DiMare as well as extended family and many dear friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank Samuel and Alberta Palmisano of Baltimore, MD and his brother Frank Palmisano, Jr. of Baltimore, MD.

Rob earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology in 1976 from Loyola College, Maryland. He was an active member of the La Bona Vita Italian Club of Maryland and once served as Treasurer and Vice President.

Professionally, Rob worked as a Group Manager at Hecht's Company in Annapolis, Maryland and later worked in Sales at Metal Goods.  He founded Destination World Travel and also joined as a Senior Travel Consultant at World Travel Services until his retirement in 2019.

Above all, Rob will be remembered as a devoted and loving husband, as the fun-loving brother and uncle, jovial, supportive and a goofy adult who created joy, shared laughter, told funny stories and played games with the kids.

He was deeply proud of his family and generous with his wisdom and encouragement. Rob loved anything associated with water, the ocean, the beach, lighthouses, the sound of waves and the smell of salt air. He loved everything sports and was an avid fan of the Ravens and the O's. His favorite pastime was eating crabs on the porch while watching sports. He valued friendship and he leaves behind many who will miss his steady presence, humor and kindness.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 8th, 2026 at Peaceful Alternatives Funeral & Cremation Center, 2325 York Road, Timonium, MD, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. A funeral mass will be held on Friday, January 9th, at 11:00 a.m. at the Church of the Nativity, 20 E Ridgely Rd, Timonium, MD 21093. The interment will follow at Gardens of Faith Cemetery in Rosedale, Baltimore County, MD.
