Stoltzfus
d. Jul 30, 2024
Professor Emeritus Robert Edwin Stoltzfus of Bolton Hill died on Tuesday July 30, 2024, at the age of 85. He was the son of Ephraim Levi and Anna Robison Stoltzfus of Pottstown, PA and is survived by a niece Tracy Zeiders and his partner of over 50 years, James Lee Brown.
He received his MFA in Theatre Design from The Catholic University of America and taught English at Bel Air High School before beginning a forty-year career in theatre at The Community College of Baltimore County, Essex Campus. Bob was known for his sharp wit, intellect and exceptional talent in theatre design and direction. His sets for the Harford Opera Company received positive national acclaim in Opera News. He was one of the founding members of The Cockpit in Court Summer Theatre where he designed and directed frequently. He also composed original scores for his adaptation of Antigone and The Madwoman of Chaillot. In addition to being a Professor of Speech and Theatre at CCBC, Bob also headed the CCBC cable network where he produced original programing and was active with the local chapter of The American Association of University Professors.
