Rodney David Schmidt of Parkton, Maryland age79, passed away with his family by his side on Friday February 25, 2022. Rodney was born in Baltimore, Maryland on June 4, 1942, to the late Mildred Elizabeth (nee Davids) Schmidt and the late Gerard Anthony Schmidt.  Beloved husband of Royce Margaret Schmidt (nee Elliott); devoted father of Sharon and her companion JD, and Suzette and her husband Fred; dear grandfather of TJ and his wife Lisa, and David; cherished great grandfather of Alex.

Rodney was a proud and loyal employee of the Baltimore Gas and Electric Company where he worked for many years until his retirement. His favorite T.V. show was Jeopardy, and he would play along by shouting out the correct answers. Royce would say to him "Since you know all the answers, why don't you go on the show and win us some money." Rodney was also an avid Ravens fan. He lived a very simple and secluded life and loved his family very much.
