Obituary

Scott Jamison Koenig, Sr. passed away at age 61 on January 4th, 2023 at St. Joseph's Medical Center, Towson, Maryland, after a brief illness, surrounded by family.

If you knew Scott in passing or as a lifelong friend you knew that he had a quick wit and an amazing dry sense of humor, leaving you belly laughing or scratching your head. He was an avid skier, taking the slopes by storm, fierce and fearless. A little about Scott's early life, he graduated from Hoosic Valley High School in Schaghticoke, New York. He moved to Baltimore, Maryland to help support the family owned business, Poplar Place Hardware. A few years later, Scott made the decision to change careers and enrolled in Essex Community College where he began his path as a Master Plumber, where he kept his hands busy and helped his community.  This is where many of you may know Scott from his willingness to help others with his plumbing prowess, being the « Robinhood » of plumbers lending a hand to those in need. Last but not least, Scott was a lifelong artist. He used many mediums to share his talent and creativity with others from sketching with pencil to breathing new life into ordinary everyday objects making them Extraordinary!

Scott is survived by his children Scott Koenig, Jr. (wife Dasha and son Bennett), Brent Koenig (wife Emily), and his sisters Daneille Eddy (husband Randy and daughter Emily), Manette Eddy (husband Doug sons Kyle and Shawn) Amy Archer (husband Robin and daughter Violet), and Courtnee Cutler (husband Todd and daughter Samantha). He is predeceased by his grandparents, George and Mildred Mincsik, his father, George Koenig, and his mother, Carol Barsalou.
