Obituary

On March 4, 2025 Sheila Sinclair passed away peacefully at home with her devoted friend.

Sheila was born February 11, 1949.  At age 7 she was diagnosed with Juvenile Diabetes. However, she was determined not to let this define her. Instead, she lived life to the fullest. It was only in her last 4-5 years she started losing her battle with this nasty disease. It started with a few toes being amputated then progressed to all of them. Despite being confined to a wheelchair throughout her convalescence she insisted on getting out of the house. She was later told she would need a pacemaker then next she bravely faced kidney dialysis several times weekly. These setbacks took a toll but she never lost her resilience. When asked what kept her going she would simply reply she had too many upcoming events for which she wanted to be present. Unfortunately, her failing body could no longer keep up with what her heart truly wanted.

Sheila was a Maryland resident for most of her life but for 15 years she called Florida her home. It was here she realized her true calling and pursued a career as a certified nanny. Caring for children helped to fill a heart-breaking void in her life. However, in late 2008 she was diagnosed with early-stage bladder cancer and made the difficult decision to return to Maryland for treatment. Upon her return she procured a position as nanny to a very special family. From her first day she was welcomed as part of their family and to this day remains part of their family forever.

Sheila is survived by a son Michael, a sister Karen, a brother Gary and a niece Stacey. She is also survived by a large circle of friends who will hold their memories of Sheila close to their hearts.

A celebration of her life will follow at a later date.  At this time, in lieu of flowers, contributions may be made online to the JDRF (Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation). Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation
