Song Kil Park passed away on Thursday, January 6, after a brief battle with COVID under the care of Franklin Square Medical Center in Baltimore, MD. He is survived by his wife, Chun Hee Cho, two daughters, Lucia and Eun Young, two sons, Paul and Richard, and six grandchildren. He was 80.
He and his wife were inseparable after first meeting 30 years ago. He was loving, kind, generous, and patient, as a husband, father and grandfather. He was always willing to help others, and brought his smile with him everywhere. He loved to golf, travel, and keep his friends close, and stayed active, whether as a handyman or gardener, long after retirement.
He was born in Wonju, South Korea, on June 1, 1941 and lived in Baltimore, where he was an active member of the Korean-American community. He had served as 12 th president of the Korean Society of Maryland, president of Seoul Club of Maryland, and president of the Maryland Korean Liquor Association. Always devoted to service of others, he worked most of his life, retiring in 2018. In addition to being a local business owner, he worked 20 years for BWI Airport Taxi.
