Stephen Douglas Rhine, Sr. ("Steve"), 71, of Cockeysville, Maryland, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 20, 2025, at Gilchrist in Towson.

Born on May 1, 1954, Steve was the beloved son of Patricia Alice Rhine and Charles Leman Rhine. Though he faced significant challenges early in life, including being paralyzed from the waist down at the age of 19, Steve defied every limitation placed before him. Doctors once said he wouldn't walk, drive, or work—but he proved them wrong every day of his life.

Steve built a successful career as a tow truck driver and proudly owned and operated his own business for over 35 years – Rhine Towing. He was deeply dedicated to his work and took pride in serving his community.

Steve was married to Laura Harkins for nearly 20 years, and together they raised four children: Stephen Douglas Rhine, Jr., Patricia Rhine, Laura Marie Rhine, and Charles Edward Rhine. He was a devoted father who cherished time with his family.

He had a passion for car shows and spent countless weekends in Carlisle, Pennsylvania. Steve also loved music, dancing, singing, and enjoying good food, surrounded by loved ones. His faith was a central part of his life—he loved the Lord Jesus Christ and never missed an opportunity to speak about Him.

A memorial service to celebrate Steve's life will be held on Monday, September 8, 2025, at 10:00 AM at St. Joseph Parish, 100 Church Lane, Cockeysville, MD 21030. He was cremated, in accordance with his wishes.

Steve's legacy of strength, joy, and faith will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
