Obituary

Sun Soon Cho went to be with the Lord on the morning of Thursday, December 1, 2022, after a beautiful sunrise. She was born in a small town called Kongju in the region of Choong Chung Nam Doh in South Korea on April 1, 1939.  Following the immigration of her husband, Pil Hyung Cho, to the United States in 1974, she and her four children were reunited with him on October 21, 1976.

She was the fifth of six children to parents Jong Suh Hong and Il Gui Choi. Sun Soon was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Pil Hyung Cho and second born son Sung Dae. She was a strong, devoted and selfless mother to Jennifer Sung In Naylor, Sung Woo Kim, Scott Sung Chan Cho, and Sung Ae (HeeJu) Kim.  She was also a loving and caring mother-in-law to John Naylor, Kyung Ha Kim, and Richard Youngsup Kim and an amazing grandmother to her ten grandchildren and three great grandchildren, who were her pride and joy:  Bruce Jae Kim (Alice Yuri), Brandon Jae Suk Kim (Pooja), Kelsey Jin Naylor, Alley Eunhae Naylor, Claire Okdong Naylor-Ryan (Jake), Emma Inae Kim, Abby Jayoung Kim, Gloria Hayoung Kim, Joanna HaEun Kim, Elizabeth Juyoung Kim, Isaac Min Kim, Nora Eun Kim and Aidan Suh Joon Kim. She was a devoted deacon at the Korean Presbyterian Church of Baltimore where she prepared meals and tirelessly prayed for others.  She demonstrated the selfless love of Christ by always caring and placing the lives of others before her own.  We will miss her deeply and will hold her legacy in our hearts forever.

A memorial service will be held on Monday, December 5, 2022 at 7:00 pm at the Korean Presbyterian Church of Baltimore (1600 W Seminary Ave, Lutherville, MD 21093).  The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, December 6, 2022 at 11:30 am at Peaceful Alternatives Funeral and Cremation Center, P.A. (2325 York Rd, Timonium, MD 21093) with burial to follow at Crest Lawn Memorial Gardens (2150 Mt View Rd, Marriottsville, MD 21104) at 1:30 pm.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made to Hospice of the Piedmont ( https://www.hopva.org ) or Smile Train ( https://www.smiletrain.org ).
