Thomas Edward Clifton, of Baltimore, Maryland passed away on Saturday February 19, 2022 at the age of 85.

He was born in Brooklyn, Maryland on March 25, 1936 and was the youngest of 7 children of the late Judith (nee Ramagos) and Louis Clifton. Tom attended St. Rose of Lima Elementary School, Calvert Hall College and Loyola College. He did graduate work at Johns Hopkins University, Rutgers University and the University of Maryland. His principle occupation for 40 years was a teacher of mathematics in Baltimore and Howard county high schools. He was a popular teacher at Edmondson High School, Baltimore Polytechnic Institute, Walbrook High School and Oakland Mills High School. Tom was an accomplished pianist, tennis player and connoisseur of the arts. He also served for 5 years with the United States Army Reserves.

He is survived by his beloved brother Charles Clifton (wife, Mercedes) of Cockeysville; sister, Rita Stead (husband, Ron) of Virginia; 33 nieces and nephews and numerous great nieces and nephews. Tom was preceded in death by his siblings, Logan, Warren and Cody Clifton and Katherine Dukehart.

Services and interment will be private. Memorial donations in Thomas' name may be sent to support Dr. Raphael Viscidi's vaccine research at the Johns Hopkins Children's Center.
