Tony Rouse, 81, of Bel Air, MD, passed away peacefully on December 29, 2024. Born June 23, 1943, in Wallace, North Carolina to the late Rufus Randolph Rouse and Helen Daniel Rouse (Quinn). He was the quiet, middle brother to siblings George "Dan", Bill, Helen "Annette", and Pamela, and loving husband to Mary Elizabeth "Betty" Rouse (Gares). Tony graduated from Newport New High School, and attended East Carolina University, where he graduated with a Bachelor of Mathematics. Tony worked as a Systems Research Analyst for the US Army Department of Defense for 30 years until his retirement in 1999, at which time he became a full-time dad and grandpa. Tony was an avid lover of traveling, biking, boating, golfing, reading, and ice cream. Throughout his travels, he visited 49 out of 50 of the United States, and visited five of seven continents, touring many countries and cities. He was a big fan of both playing board/card games with his grandchildren and watching the Baltimore Ravens and Orioles. He volunteered with many organizations through Christ Our King Presbyterian Church, including Meals on Wheels.
Tony is survived by his three children: Steven Rouse and wife Dannielle, Karen Tormollan and husband Tom, and Kelly Hoffert and husband Henry. Tony had five grandchildren; Kelsey, Rebecca, Helen, Daniel, and Erin; and two great-grandchildren, Weston and Keaton. He is survived by his siblings Bill Rouse and Pamela Miller, and his companion, Cheryl Tyler. Tony is predeceased by his wife, Mary Elizabeth "Betty" Rouse (Gares), and siblings George Daniel "Dan" Rouse and Helen Annette Porter.
A Memorial Service will be held in Tony's honor at Christ Our King Presbyterian Church in Bel Air, MD on January 11, 2025, at 11:00am, with a reception at the church to follow. In lieu of flowers, you may donate to CurePSP, a foundation dedicated to finding a treatment and cure for Progressive Supranuclear Palsy, in Tony's honor.
