Young Woo Choe was born December 18, 1933 in Kwangju, Korea to In Hung Choe and Hui Nam Kim.  He spent a few a years in Manchuria with his father supporting the resistance to Japanese Occupation and returned to Korea after liberation in 1945.  During the Korean War, he was in high school and is a Korean Army Veteran.  He later became a high school English teacher. On October 11, 1961, Young married Myong Cho Choe.  His children are: Harry Chung Sik Choe, Mike Wan Sik Choe, Kim Eun Kyong Wong, Woo Sik Choe, Mark Chang Sik Choe, and Kyong Sik Choe. After the passing of Woo Sik Choe, Young moved his family to the United States on January 9th, 1976 and settled in Maryland. While in Maryland, he worked as construction foreman, supervising the construction of a stretch of Route 66 in Northern Virgina until 1980.  He then became a small business owner in Baltimore, Maryland.  In 1981, Young moved to Houston, Texas with his 2 youngest children before returning to Maryland again in 1989.  In 2002, he retired from being a small business owner.  Young is remembered as a hardworking, honest man who made many sacrifices so his children could become very successful people in this great country.  Thanks to his many sacrifices, Harry was able to become a successful construction company owner; Kim was able to become an auditor for The New York Port Authority; and Mike, Mark, and Kyong were all able to become dentists.  Even after his passing, Young's ethics and values are all ones we still live by today.

The family will receive friends at Peaceful Alternatives Funeral and Cremation Center, P.A., 2325 York Road, Timonium, Maryland 21093 on Saturday August 23 from 9:30 AM until 11:00 AM where a Funeral Service will be held beginning at 11:00 AM.  Interment to follow at Dulaney Valley Memorial Gardens.
