Obituary

Yvonne "Bunny" Kay Bishop-Beatty also known as Bunny went to Heaven on Saturday, April 3, 2021. She was 62 and died at her home in Lutherville, Maryland from a heart attack while sleeping. Yvonne a beloved daughter, was born September 18, 1958 to Charles J. Bishop, Sr. and Kay Y. Hare Bishop Owens. She was preceded in death by her father Charles J. Bishop Sr.; husband, Ross Beatty; stepfather, Bruce E. Owens; stepsister, Nicole Owens Bogdan; and stepsister Karyn Owens.

Music was the love of her life. As a little girl she sang at our church and the minister wrote a note saying we should promote her singing. She put her heart into singing, playing guitar and the church organ. Most of all, she enjoyed preforming with different bands including her own. In Loch Raven Elementary School, she performed alone as well as being in their concerts. Then in Towson Junior High School, she played the part of Elsa, the Baroness from "The Sound of Music" and won an award for the best singer during that performance. Her band played in many different places as her father Charlie lined up most of their gigs. However, they played at Leadbetter Tavern in Fells Point, Maryland for years & loved it.

Bunny also liked sewing and became quite a seamstress making all kinds of things including her wedding gown shown in the picture on the bulletin. Crocheting, art, gardening, cooking and baking were things she loved doing. Christmas was her favorite holiday. She took pride in decorating her home, baking cookies, etc. to celebrate the holiday.

On May 17, 2021 she would have had 40 years of sobriety with Alcoholics Anonymous and remained an active member. She suffered and fought clinical depression for most of her life, but always had a sweet smile, a very loving and kind heart, and was all around a beautiful person. To her parents she was the most precious gift from God.

When Ross (her husband and a great person himself) passed away, she planned a beautiful memorial dinner in his honor. Bunny and Ross liked the Café Spice Restaurant located in Cockeysville, Maryland. They specialized in Indian cuisine. His family and friends attended spent the time at the restaurant sharing stories and remembering all the wonderful things about Ross. They were married for a happy 14 years.

Yvonne leaves behind to cherish memories, her mother Kay Hare Bishop Owens; brother, Charles J Bishop Jr. (Jim/Jimmy); two granddaughters, Christine Miller and her husband Chad and Stephanie Bishop and her companion Ben Asplen; 3 great nephews, Dallas and Easton Miller and Brennan Asplen; one great niece Audrey Asplen; step brother-in-law, Michael Bogdan; step nephew, Andrew Bogdan; step sister, Michele Varga and her husband Lazlo; step niece, Natasha Papay and her husband Travis; and great step nieces, Rylee and Monroe Papay.
