Yvonne Marie (DeMattia) Murphy, of Timonium, Maryland peacefully passed away on Friday, January 12, 2024. She was 94 years old. Born on August 11, 1929 in the Bronx, New York to the late Geraldine (nee Vecellio) and Raymond DeMattia. Yvonne was the beloved wife of James Gerald Murphy, Jr. for 72 years; devoted mother of Michael R. Murphy and his wife Debbi, Paul J. Murphy and his wife Tina, James G. Murphy, III, David D. Murphy and his wife Diana, and Laura J. Murphy; proud grandmother of Erin Day and her husband Bryan, Lauren Murphy and her husband Eric, David Brendan Murphy and his wife Caroline, Emily Schneider and her husband Patrick, Kaela Murphy and her partner Alex Otto, Jeffrey Schmaley and his partner Kelsey, Timothy Murphy and his partner Lily and Trevor Murphy; cherished great grandmother of Jack, Michael, Sophia, Martha Grace, Charlotte, Mahlon, Eva, Teddy, and Mary Belle; dear sister of the late Dennis DeMattia.

Yvonne will lie-in-state at the Catholic Community of St. Francis Xavier, 13717 Cuba Road, Cockeysville, Maryland 21030 on Tuesday, February 6 from 10 – 11 AM with a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated by Fr. Ferdinand Ezenwachi beginning at 11 AM. Interment will follow at Garrison Forest Veterans Cemetery. Repass to follow interment.
